Yes, creating an account on Flipperstreet is completely free. You can start buying and selling without any upfront costs.

The FCC is a unique code provided by the payment provider (e.g., Mobile Payment or the buyer’s card issuer) to confirm that a transaction has been successfully processed. The FCC helps verify both the payment and the receipt of the item before funds are released to the seller.

The FCC serves two purposes:

  1. Payment Verification: It confirms that the payment for the order has been processed successfully by the payment provider (e.g., Safaricom or card issuer).
  2. Confirmation of Receipt of Item: Once the buyer has received the items, he/she hands over the FCC to the seller at that point. (NB. A buyer should never hand over the FCC to a seller before he/she gets the bought items or service.) The FCC confirms that the trade is legitimate and complete, allowing the funds to be released to the seller once submitted and verified by Flipperstreet. Refer to our privacy policy.

For verification, only specific parts of the FCC are required:

  • First Four Digits: The first four characters (letters or numbers) of the code i.e. ABCD
  • Last Four Digits: The last four characters (letters or numbers) of the code. i.e. 5678

Then, the seller will submit the combined code ( Together with the order number):

  • Combined :  FCC: ABCD5678 

The seller submits the combined FCC via the FCC Verification form located on their vendor dashboard on Flipperstreet. The seller will fill out the form with the order number and the combined FCC (first four and last four digits) and submit it for verification.

Once the FCC is submitted, Flipperstreet will verify it against the one received from the payment provider (e.g., Safaricom or card issuer). If the code matches, the payment will be released to the seller within 24-48 hours.

If the seller is unable to provide the FCC, they can request the buyer to provide the FCC. If the buyer refuses to provide the FCC, the seller can request that the buyer marks the order as received, and Flipperstreet may release the funds 7 days after the order was delivered, provided no dispute is raised.

 

If the buyer doesn’t want to provide the FCC, they can choose to mark the order as received. If the buyer does not provide the FCC within 7 days and no dispute is raised, Flipperstreet will release the funds to the seller.

Flipperstreet compares the FCC submitted by the seller (first four and last four digits) with the one received from the payment provider. If the codes match, Flipperstreet will verify the transaction and release the funds to the seller.

Once the FCC is successfully verified, the payment is processed and released to the seller within 24-48 hours. If the buyer refuses to provide the FCC, the funds will be released to the seller 7 days after delivery, as long as no dispute has been raised.

If the FCC does not match the code received from the payment provider, the seller will be notified. The seller will need to check the FCC and resubmit it.

If an item is not delivered, buyers are eligible for a full refund. Simply report the issue, and our team will assist in resolving the matter promptly.

Sellers can use any reliable shipping service with tracking to ensure safe delivery. We recommend choosing a service that provides proof of delivery.

You can sell most items, but prohibited items (e.g., illegal or unsafe goods) are not allowed. Check our guidelines for details.

All sellers on Flipperstreet are verified, and you can view their ratings and reviews before making a purchase.

We accept secure payment methods like Mobile payments i.e. Safaricom M-pesa, Airtel money, credit/debit cards, PayPal, Stripe and other trusted services.

If the buyer claims the items have the following issues:

  • Not delivered: The buyer claims they did not receive the item.
  • Damaged: The item is broken or faulty upon arrival.
  • Not as described: The item does not match the description or images provided.

Dispute Process: The buyer can raise a dispute by contacting Flipperstreet directly. The following steps will be taken:

  1. Investigation: Flipperstreet will review the dispute and contact both the buyer and the seller to gather information, including shipping tracking details, photos of the damaged item (if applicable), or evidence of misrepresentation.

  2. Resolution: If the item is found to be damaged, undelivered, or not as described, Flipperstreet will initiate the following actions:

    • Refund or Replacement: Flipperstreet will arrange a refund or replacement depending on the situation.
    • Release of Funds: Funds will not be released to the seller until the issue is resolved.
  3. Refund or Return: The buyer may be asked to return the item, and once Flipperstreet confirms the return, the seller will be required to either provide a refund or send a replacement.

  • For Sellers: It ensures that they will receive payment only once the buyer has confirmed receipt of the item and submitted the correct FCC. This helps reduce fraud and secure the transaction.

  • For Buyers: It assures that they have received the product before the funds are released to the seller, making the buying process more secure and trustworthy.
